CT Overwhelmingly Supports Public Option
Hey Joe Lieberman, you know that threat you made yesterday to filibuster the public option? Well, your constituents are smarter than you are. They favor the public option 68 – 21. And among independents they support the public option 73 – 15. Why do you hate your constituents, Senator Lieberman?
I’ve got news for Senator Joe Lieberman. It’s going to be a very cold winter in the U.S. Senate for him. Unnamed sources have plans for Joe Lieberman if joins a filibuster to stop an up or down vote on health care reform. For starters, if he joins with the GOP to filibuster a vote, he will not be serving on any committees in the near future. He may as well change parties and join with the GOP. Lieberman will be wearing his thermal underwear. Democrats will declare him a leper.

I hope your unnamed sources are credible and accurate. But unfortunately those are after-the-fact punitive measures. Somehow he has to be forced to vote for cloture. In my opinion, Lieberman already deserves to lose his chair. The caucus should be prepared to take that step, at minimum, regardless of what he does.
